Sea Bream Ceviche is a refreshing and zesty dish perfect for special occasions. With tender sea bream marinated in lime juice, fresh vegetables, and a hint of spice, it showcases the vibrant flavours of the sea. Light, flavourful, and simple to prepare, this ceviche is a great choice for adding a fresh twist to your holiday table.

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 400 g of sea bream fillet, skinless and boneless

  • Juice of 4 limes

  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced

  • 1 small green chilli, finely chopped (adjust to taste)

  • 1 medium tomato, finely diced

  • 1 small bel pepper, finely chopped

  • 1/2 cucumber, peeled and finely diced

  • 1 small bunch of fresh coriander, finely chopped

  • Salt, to taste

  • Black pepper, to taste

  • Olive oil, for drizzling

  • Corn tortilla chips or crusty bread, for serving

Preparation

  1. Prepare the Fish

Cut the sea bream fillet into small, bite-sized cubes. Place the fish in a bowl and season with a pinch of salt and black pepper.

  2. Marinate the Fish

Pour the lime juice over the fish, ensuring it is fully submerged. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 15–20 minutes, allowing the acid to "cook" the fish until it turns opaque.

  3. Prepare the Vegetables

While the fish is marinating, slice the onion thinly and soak it in cold water for a few minutes to reduce its sharpness. Dice the tomato, bell pepper, and cucumber, and finely chop the green chilli and coriander.

  4. Combine the Ingredients

Once the fish is ready, drain any excess lime juice and mix it with the prepared vegetables and chilli. Adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper, drizzle with a bit of olive oil, and toss gently to combine.

  5. Serve

Transfer the ceviche to a serving dish and garnish with fresh coriander. Serve immediately with corn tortilla chips or slices of crusty bread.

Sea Bream Ceviche is a delightful addition to any festive menu, bringing a burst of freshness and vibrant flavours to your Christmas table. Serve it cold with tortilla chips or crusty bread for a light yet satisfying dish. Whether enjoyed as a starter or a refreshing main, this ceviche is sure to impress your guests. Give it a try and bring the vibrant flavours of the sea to your holiday season!
